Report: Blackburn

Within the exchange between the Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg and the Blackburn College the students worked out different subjects about textiles and fashion, design and construction.

Since the Blackburn College is specialized  in textile design the students experimented with printing, embroidery, felting and embellishing techniques in Britain. While back in Herford the students worked out basic blocks for a skirt, cut the fabric made the skirt made-to-measure out of the designed and decorated fabrics produced in Blackburn.

This exchange of language, culture and the different knowledge of designing textiles and constructing garments is planned to be vital part of the course for every student of the "Bekleidungstechnische AssistenInnen" at the Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg and will take place within the first year of education.
